Our 2024 Honorific Awards

This year, the recipients of the Honorific Awards all have one thing in common: they have become key figures of the world of series. Kyle MacLachlan, Ella Purnell and Michaela Jaé Rodriguez will be recognized for their accomplished and committed careers during the Festival.

Kyle MacLachlan is best known for his iconic collaborations with David Lynch on Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet, and Dune. Among his other credits are Sex and the City, Desperate Housewives, and Portlandia. MacLachlan recently starred opposite Kate McKinnon in the Peacock limited series Joe vs. Carole and will next be seen opposite Jon Hamm in the film, Confess, Fletch, a reboot of the comedy classic Fletch

Ella Purnell is one to watch as a rising British actress with a diverse resumé of film, television, and theater credits. In 2016, Purnell had a breakout leading role Tim Burton’s visually fantastical adaptation of MISS Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children. Purnell’s other feature film credits include Never Let Me Go, Kick-Ass 2, Maleficent, as well as indies such as Churchill, The Journey Is The Destination and Intruders. On TV, she was seen in Sweetbitter, Belgravia, Army of the Dead, Ordeal of Innocence, and also lent her voice to animated series like Arcane, Star Trek: Prodigy, as well as Invincible. From 2021-2023, Purnell portrayed the role of ‘Jackie Taylor’ in the highly popular Showtime series Yellowjackets. Upcoming, Purnell can be seen starring in the upcoming post-apocalyptic drama series Fallout for Amazon Prime Video, and in Sweetpea, a comedy drama television series for Sky Atlantic, for which she will also serve as an executive producer.

Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, is a renowned actress, singer and activist who shined in the last season of American Horror Story (FX) and will next be starring in the second season of the series Loot on Apple TV+. She is the first transgender woman to receive a Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her role in Pose (FX), which also won her the Golden Globe for Best Actress in 2022. Her commitment and performances keep being recognized through countless nominations and awards, stressing her incredible influence and contribution to the industry. Remarkable roles in films such as Tick, Tick... Boom! or the Transformers franchise, and her impending comeback to the musical scene, all contribute to strengthening her position as an emblematic figure and an influential spokesperson within the LGBTQIA+ community and beyond.
