CONVERSATION WITH THE COMPOSER MAÏDI ROTH
Maïdi Roth, composer and author, navigates between independent cinema (Héroïnes, Parlez-moi de vous, Possession...) and series with a diverse and biting style. Always searching for organic and groundbreaking sounds, she mixes together orchestral writing, electronic tones and urban influences. With more than 70 film scores to her credit, she recently signed the score of : Haut les coeurs, that won Best TV movie and Best screenwriting at the Luchon Festival; Signalement directed by Éric Métayer and La Peste directed by Antoine Garceau and adapted from Albert Camus’ novel.
She also scored for the TV movie Il est elle, directed by Clément Michel and selected for the International Emmy Awards, as well as for the series L’Amour presque parfait by Pascale Pouzadoux, for which she composed 10 original songs. Singer-songwriter of three personal albums signed at Mercury Universal, her pop-rock DNA led her to her first collaboration on screen for the feature film Héroïnes in 1997. Being a permanent member of the SACEM and a member of the autoproduction commission for three years, she is actively committed to the recognition and spreading of women composers.
