Michael Kenneth Williams
Member of the Jury of this first edition of CANNESERIES, he is notably known for his roles as Omar Little in The Wire or Albert White in Boardwalk Empire and will come back for us on his brilliant career in cinema and television.
Biography
Born in 1966 in Brooklyn (United States), he began his career as a professional dancer (music videos, concerts and tours with Madonna or George Michael), model and then actor in the theater for various productions of the MaMA Experimental Theatre, the National Black Theater Company or the Theater for a New Generation, before turning to film and television. Best known today for his television roles in the series The Wire, The Kill Point and Boardwalk Empire, he also pursues a brilliant career in film, notably in Steve McQueen's multi-awarded feature 12 Years a Slave (2013), José Padilha's RoboCop (2014), James DeMonaco's The Purge: Anarchy (2014) or Michael Cuesta's Kill the Messenger (2014).
