CANNESERIES Unlimited

CANNESERIES Unlimited is a writing residency aimed at developing the next generation of series writers and original content that is distinctly European in flavor.

After examining the 150 applications received, the jury has selected 6 female authors to take part in the series writing residency during Season 7 of CANNESERIES.

Once again this year, Talent Unlimited asserted its ambition to «bring out new talent» by developing European drama for the international market.

Talent Unlimited is focusing on series writing with its CANNESERIES Unlimited residency, offering a genre and theme that inspired many authors: the POLAR genre, in the arena of the UNIVERSITY with the theme of RUMOUR.

CANNESERIES Unlimited, dedicated to series writing, aims to bring out new talent from all horizons. The aim of these residencies is to support the authors in their creative process, offering the world powerful, beautiful and universal stories. Since the 2022 edition, the winner of each residency has seen his or her project enter development within the CANAL+ Group.
The authors selected benefit from the support of partners such as Cannes Town Hall, CANAL+, Université Côte d’Azur and its Foundation, as well as the CNC and the assistance of script consultants. These scriptwriter mentors guide the authors throughout the residency in their artistic and professional approach, helping them to understand the artistic and commercial requirements of a fast-changing industry.
The programme is part of the recent Cannes University Campus, which offers a wide range of courses in scriptwriting and audiovisual content creation. The residency offers an intensive three-week immersion in Cannes during the CANNESERIES festival, followed by online workshops and pitch sessions supervised by consultants. This will be followed by the finalisation of their writing project and the selection of the 2024 winner.
