In the presence of creator and screenwriter Alice Birch, actress and producer Rachel Weisz, and actress Britne Oldford.
Synopsis
A modern take on David Cronenberg’s 1988 thriller starring Jeremy Irons, Dead Ringers will feature Rachel Weisz playing the double-lead role of Elliot and Beverly Mantle, twins who share everything: Drugs, lovers, and an unapologetic desire to do whatever it takes—including pushing the boundaries on medical ethics—in an effort to challenge antiquated practices and bring women’s healthcare to the forefront.
Note from the artistic direction
Feminine counterpoint of the David Cronenberg’s classic, taking place in the ultra-capitalistic New York of 2023, Oscar-winning actress Rachel Weisz plays two twin sisters working as obstetricians, as brilliant as they are ready to do anything to conduct their research on procreation.
A highly wicked series that will surprise you constantly, thanks, in part, to its very meticulous directing and sharp dialogues that we owe to its showrunner, Alice Birch (Normal People, Lady Macbeth, Succession…).
