Lynda Carter: the iconic incarnation of Wonder Woman

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the creation of Wonder Woman, an exclusive talk with one of the most iconic actresses who has played the heroine on screen: Lynda Carter. She comes back on her career, her relationship to the legendary character and her active feminism.

Lynda Carter is an actress, producer, and singer who famously redefined what it meant to be a superhero in the hit 1970s TV show Wonder Woman, the first popular live-action portrayal of the iconic DC Comics character. Today, Lynda shares her fascinating life on stage in story and song. Over her illustrious career, she has produced and starred in Emmy-nominated CBS network television specials, made her West End debut in the musical Chicago, and portrayed the President of the United States on The CW’s hit show Supergirl.

Before Lynda won the Miss World USA title in 1973 that launched her to television stardom, she made her singing debut at 14, traveling from the Catskills to Las Vegas and from San Francisco cabarets to Texas saloons. In the past decade she's released four soulful albums steeped in rock, blues, and country, including At Last (2010) which dropped at No. 6 on the Billboard charts. Lynda has headlined concerts from the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. to Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City with her band of Nashville all-stars. With her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and a new single on the way, she continues to inspire women and girls everywhere to claim their power.
