CANNESERIES unlimited 2020: the selected project revealed

May 17, 2021

The winner of the third edition of CANNESERIES UNLIMITED, the international screenwriting residency program, has been chosen.

It is the British author Lara Barbier whose Young Adult spy thriller project Sparrowhawk has seduced the creative teams of CANAL+. She has a Master's degree in screenwriting from the London College of Communication. She is currently co-writing a TV movie for Bavaria Fiction.

ALISE (22), introverted and studious, is an intern at the UN in Geneva. She falls in love with Michaela, her roommate. But when her roommate suddenly disappears, she discovers that Michaela belongs to an all-female MI6 black ops group called SPARROWHAWK. While trying to find her, Alise is caught up in the dangerous underworld that is totally unknown to her.

Eight young European scriptwriters participated in this series writing residency created by CANAL+, Vivendi, Université Côte d’Azur and the Mairie de Cannes. The proposed theme was "Feminine - Masculine".

The 2021 residents have already been selected but see you in July for the call for applications for CANNESERIES UNLIMITED 2022.
