To officially close its second edition, the CANNESERIES Jury will present its Award to the series selected in Official Competition during CANNESERIES' Closing and Award Ceremony, on Wednesday 11th April 2019, in the auditorium Lumière in the Palais des Festivals in Cannes. In charge of this prestigious event, the talented Monsieur Poulpe.
Monsieur Poulpe’s pseudonym is perfectly fitting: as an actor, screenwriter, graphic designer, TV presenter, director and even singer, his “tentacles” extend to many different fields.
He got his start in 2007 with programs like Nerdz, the first French webseries created with Davy Mourier, which was a cult hit for a whole generation. Next came the Golden Show, starring Monsieur Poulpe and Davy by director François Descraques. This innovative program, which became France's first sketch show broadcast on the Internet, was quickly snatched up by CANAL+ and Alexandre Astier who produced its second season. It also inspired the creation of the collectives Golden Mustache and Studio Bagel.
New chapter when he joined Studio Bagel in 2012 as both a comedian and writing director. Monsieur Poulpe then continued to make a name of himself in Le Before with Le Dézapping and hit show Le Grand Journal with le JT de l'invité. It was at this time that Monsieur Poulpe joined Antoine De Caunes for two seasons on l'Emission D'Antoine, including creating the game "A finger in the Octopus".
In 2017, Monsieur Poulpe continued to flex his production muscles with his own production company, NINJA&Associés with Vanessa Brias, with whom he created the show Crac Crac, a monthly program dealing with sexuality in all its forms.
In parallel with his television productions, Monsieur Poulpe also continues to pursue a career as a film actor with roles in TAXI 5 by Franck Gastambide, Budapest by Xavier Gens with Manu Payet and Jonathan Cohen in addition to a noteworthy appearance at the 2018 ceremony of the Cesar Awards.
This year, while simultaneously developing several television, series, web and film projects within his company, he will have the honor of being the CANNESERIES Master of Ceremonies.
